Shannon Barnett joins the Wednesday Night Orchestra for an afternoon of contemporary big band jazz.
Trombonist and band leader Shannon Barnett is a “soul-meltingly communicative brass player”. Born and raised in Victoria, Shannon established herself in the Australian music scene. She moved to Cologne, Germany to take up a position with the WDR Big Band and quickly became a valued part of the German jazz scene.
The Wednesday Night Orchestra is WAYJO’s premier ensemble. Focusing on innovative contemporary music from award-winning Australian and international composers, they also feature some of the country’s best young emerging talent. This performance will feature original music hand picked by Shannon to bring you the delightful combination of trombone and big band.
