Pianist Jackson Van Ballegooyen completed his Bachelor of Music at the James Morrison Academy in Mount Gambier, under the tutelage of some of Australia’s finest musicians such as Mat Jodrell, Carl Mackey, Grant Windsor and Ross Irwin. During his studies, Jackson joined Morrison on multiple tours around the country and in 2018 placed as a finalist in the prestigious James Morrison scholarship competition. Jackson graduated with First Class Honours from WAAPA in 2021 and has since been performing with some of Perth’s best musicians.

Joined by Alistair Peel on bass and Sam Newman on drums, the Jackson Van Ballegooyen Trio plays an array of swinging jazz with arrangements inspired by the likes of Oscar Peterson, Ray Brown and Benny Green.
