Hanna Kim was born in South Korea and started studying piano at the age of six. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Piano Performance from Seoul Art College and performed regularly in Korea before moving to Perth in 2014.
Hanna formed her trio with an emphasis on her original compositions, which are characterized by a distinct style influenced by her formative years in Korea. Her melodies and musical structures are representative of this Korean tradition and they are melded together with jazz synthesized sounds, culminating in fusion delights. Cultural influences from her time spent in Korea and Australia showcase her uniqueness and offer her audience an engaging listening experience.
