Yagan Square joins Northbridge to the city with a vibrant open space that is alive with places to eat, drink and entertain. Found nestled in the arms of the William Street Horseshoe Bridge, between Roe and Wellington Streets, Yagan Square has rejuvenated that part of Perth.
It is a major civic space and performance venue, a flora reserve, a fresh food market, public realm art destination, a watercourse play-scape, a digital animation venue and an indigenous education/visitor information centre.
The 45-metre digital high tower includes a large circular screen and 14 columns, inspired by the bulrushes found at the lakes that once occupied the site. The number of columns represents the 14 Noongar language groups.
