Ghost Gum Reverb are a new avant-garde improvising group, playing atmospheric music that brings free jazz and the hypnotic repetitions of ambient and folk music together.

Made up of artists from Perth’s experimental music underground, Ghost Gum Reverb’s music is foregrounded by striking passages of circular breathing and a highly textural approach to the saxophone, underpinned by propulsive, virtuosic drumming and spacious harmony.

With a singular and difficult-to-categorise style, the group has been booked in jazz, ambient and popular music contexts alike. Audiences have compared their music to Alice Coltrane’s work with Pharoah Sanders, Colin Stetson, Evan Parker, and The Necks.
