TRISK is one of Perth’s premier improvising ensembles, well known for the fiery musical rapport between keyboardist Chris Foster, bassist Nick Abbey, and drummer Daniel Susnjar. Having formed ahead of PIJF 2014, this powerhouse trio returns to PIJF 2021 with their well-honed signature blend of jazz, hip-hop, R&B, and world music.

These three renowned musicians have been repeatedly recognised by WAM, ABC, Freedman Fellowships, and the Jazz Bell Awards. Between them, they have shared the stage with an impressive range of national and international luminaries that includes the likes of Pharrell, Chick Corea, John Scofield, Veronica Swift, Peter Bernstein, Steve Miller, Take 6, Gloria Gaynor, Dave Grusin, Joshua Redman, Dave Douglas, Terence Blanchard, Bobby McFerrin, Drapht, Downsyde, and James Morrison – to name a few!

Following up their 2015 EP Speedrun, the group is currently busily completing post-production on their debut full-length album, which is expected to drop in early 2022. This exciting project will see them join forces with incredible MCs and vocalists from WA and beyond.

Joining them for their highly anticipated PIJF 2021 show is their long-time collaborator, the legendary WA-based MC Optamus.
