Sorcha is a Melbourne-based jazz and session guitarist who has shared the stage with notable musicians including jazz guitarist Peter Bernstein, and Australia’s own Julien Wilson, Paul Williamson, James Sherlock, Aaron Choulai, Jonathan Zwartz, Elana Stone, and Dale Barlow to name a few.

Originally hailing from Perth, WA, she relocated to Sydney in 2013 and formed ‘The Sorcha Albuquerque Trio’ with Hammond B3 organist Darren Heinrich and drummer Evan Mannell. Her original compositions and standards have been featured on ABC Jazztrack and two ABC jazz compilation CDs. After relocating to Melbourne in 2020 and forming ‘The Sorcha Albuquerque Quartet’, comprising Jake Mason on Hammond B3 organ, Paul Williamson (sax), and Felix Bloxsom (drums), she has been a regular fixture in the Melbourne jazz scene, performing at venues such as Uptown Jazz Cafe, Bar 303, and The Jazzlab.

In 2019 ‘The Sorcha Albuquerque quartet’ supported grammy award-winning pianist/composer Jon Cleary at legendary Melbourne venue The Night Cat as part of his world tour. Outside of jazz she has shared the stage with notable artists such as Vika and Linda, Tex Perkins, and Ross Wilson as part of the RocKwiz Live band, and was the touring guitarist for the Carole King show ‘Tapestry’ featuring Esther Hannaford, Davey Lane (You Am I) and Mark Wilson (Jet).

As well as leading ‘The Sorcha Albuquerque Quartet’, Sorcha is a member of ARIA-nominated producer and synthesist Harvey Sutherland’s band, Melbourne soul group The Meltdown, and produces and writes music for her contemporary/jazz project ‘SORCHA’ for which she is currently working on an album set for release in late 2023.

She will be joined by extraordinary instrumentalists Zac Grafton (bass) & Alex Reid (drums) whilst ‘On Tour’ in the Great Southern Region with the Perth International Jazz Festival in 2023.
